An affordable moving company Toronto homes and businesses keep calling back

We work out of North York and move people across all six parts of the city, Old Toronto, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, East York and York, plus the surrounding regions. Most of our work comes from people who used us before, or from someone who did.

We keep our rates affordable without cutting the things that matter. The crew that shows up is our staff, not a subcontractor. The truck is ours. The price we quoted is the price you pay, and if something changes mid-move we tell you before we do it, not after.

Our moving services in Toronto and the GTA

We’re a full-service moving company, and we handle every part of the job with our own staff and our own trucks.

Residential movers Toronto: condos, apartments and houses

Our residential moving service covers apartments, condos and houses across the GTA. We wrap furniture, protect floors and railings, and reassemble what we take apart.

A one-bedroom in a Liberty Village tower and a four-bedroom in Rosedale are different jobs, and we quote them differently. High-rise moves need an elevator booking and a loading dock window. Older homes in Cabbagetown, The Annex, Riverdale and Leslieville usually mean narrow stairs, tight landings and a street you can’t park a five-tonne truck on without a permit. We plan for both before moving day rather than discovering it on your clock.

Commercial movers Toronto: offices, retail, schools and clinics

Our commercial moving service covers offices, retail, schools and clinics. We move after hours so you close at one address and open at the next the following morning.

We label and inventory by workstation, so nothing sits in a hallway on Monday waiting to be identified. For Financial District and downtown buildings we work with your property manager on freight elevator access and after-hours loading rules.

Furniture and specialty movers: pianos, safes and oversized pieces

Specialized equipment for pianos and other heavy items, plus single-item and small moves when you don’t need a full crew. If you only need one thing moved across town, say so. We have trucks in every size and we’d rather send the right one. See our full list of moving services in Toronto.

Professional packers Toronto: full and partial packing

Our packing and unpacking service covers full or partial packing with proper paper, padding and boxes. Useful when the calendar is tighter than the budget.

Partial packing is the common choice. We do the kitchen, the glassware and anything fragile, and you handle the clothes and books at your own pace. Packing is charged on top of the move, and we’ll tell you what it adds before you book.

Long-distance moving from Toronto

Moves across Ontario and to Montreal. Long-distance is quoted differently from a local move, so ask for the estimate in writing and we’ll break down what’s in it. Get a long-distance quote.

Heated storage, short or long term

Our heated storage in Toronto is available short or long term, in a dry warehouse with intrusion alarms and fire detection monitored around the clock. First month free on long-term bookings.

Useful when your closing dates don’t line up, when you’re downsizing and haven’t decided what goes, or when a renovation runs long. We inventory everything going in so you know what’s there.

What does a move in Toronto actually cost?

Most moving companies won’t put a number on a page. We will, with one honest caveat: an accurate quote needs the scope of the work. Two three-bedroom houses can be hours apart on the same day depending on stairs, parking and how packed you are.

Here is where most GTA moves land.

Estimated total costs by home size

  • Studio or 1-bedroom: $300 to $1,000, roughly 3 to 4 hours
  • 2-bedroom: $500 to $2,000, roughly 5 to 7 hours
  • 3-bedroom: $1,100 to $4,500, roughly 7 to 9 hours
  • 4+ bedroom homes: $2,000 to $7,000 and up

These are estimates, not quotes. Send us your two addresses and roughly what you have, and we’ll come back with a real number at no charge.

Hourly rates and flat rates

We offer both. Hourly suits most local moves and works out cheaper when you’re well packed and access is easy at both ends. A flat rate suits longer or more predictable jobs, and it’s the safer choice if you want one number locked in before the day. Tell us which you’d prefer and we’ll quote it that way.

We keep our pricing among the more affordable in the city, and we’d rather win the job on an honest number than on a low rate that grows by the end of the day.

What moves the price up or down

  • How much you have — number of rooms matters less than how full they are
  • Stairs and elevators — a third-floor walk-up costs more time than a building with a booked freight elevator
  • Access and parking — a driveway is faster than a permit spot half a block down a one-way street
  • How packed you are — a crew that arrives to sealed, labelled boxes works faster than one that has to wait
  • Date — the last weekend of the month is the busiest in the city, and mid-month is cheaper and easier to book

Our moving tips cover what to do in the weeks before the truck arrives.

What’s in the quote, and what isn’t

Included: the truck, the crew, blankets, dollies, straps, floor and railing protection, and disassembly and reassembly of what we take apart.

Charged separately, and always agreed in advance: packing and packing materials if we’re doing the packing, specialty equipment for pianos or safes, storage, and any extra work on site such as clearing snow from a driveway.

No weekend surcharge, no holiday surcharge. no fuel surcharge and no hidden fees you find out about at the end. Mid-month and seniors’ discounts are available, so ask when you call.

Moving in a city built on ravines: what Toronto throws at a moving day

Toronto is not a simple city to move in, and most of the problems are avoidable if someone thinks about them a week early instead of on the morning.

Condo elevator bookings and loading dock windows

Toronto has more than 100 towers over 150 metres and has led North America in active tower cranes for the better part of a decade. A lot of moves in this city happen through a service elevator on a two-hour booking. Most buildings require the booking in advance, a certificate of insurance from your mover, and a deposit. We’ll send the certificate to your property manager directly. If your window is two hours, we plan the load order so the elevator time goes on the heavy items, not on trips with lamps.

Narrow streets and parking permits in Old Toronto

Kensington Market, Leslieville, Parkdale, Roncesvalles and much of Cabbagetown were laid out long before anyone imagined a moving truck. Some streets won’t take a full-size truck at all, which is why we run smaller ones as well.

Where a City of Toronto temporary parking permit is needed, we can arrange it for you, or you can apply for it yourself if you’d rather. Let us know which when you book so nobody assumes the other one did it.

Ravines, dead ends and the detours nobody plans for

Toronto’s ravine system cuts straight through the street grid. Finch, Leslie, Lawrence and St. Clair all stop at a ravine and pick up again on the other side, and the Don Valley splits the east end from downtown. A route that looks like ten minutes on a map can be a twenty-five minute detour in a loaded truck. We route around it before the day, not during it.

Winter moves

Toronto averages about 122 cm of snow a year, and it can fall any time from November to mid-April. Winter moves are cheaper and easier to book, and they go fine as long as someone has planned for salted walkways, floor protection at both ends, and a driveway that may need clearing before a truck can back into it.

We bring the floor runners as standard. Our crews can shovel and salt as well, and that time gets added to the rate, so it’s worth having it done before we arrive if you can.

How your move works, from quote to the last box

1. Free estimate, by phone or email

Call or email with your move date, both addresses, and roughly what you have. No in-home walkthrough required unless you’d prefer one. You get an honest number and no obligation. Request your estimate.

2. We sort out the building details

Elevator bookings, loading dock windows, certificates of insurance, parking permits. We handle the parts that involve your property manager so you’re not chasing them.

3. Moving day

The crew arrives in the agreed window. We protect floors and railings first, wrap furniture, disassemble what needs it, and load. You get the same crew all day.

4. Unload, reassemble, walk through

We put furniture where you want it and reassemble what we took apart. Before we leave, we walk through the place with you so anything outstanding gets dealt with while we’re still there.

Why people book us twice

  • We never overbook staff or trucks, you get what you ordered

Toronto moving FAQs

How much does a moving company in Toronto cost?

A studio or one-bedroom usually runs $300 to $1,000, a two-bedroom $500 to $2,000, a three-bedroom $1,100 to $4,500, and a four-bedroom or larger $2,000 and up. Those are estimates rather than quotes. The real number depends on how much you have, how many stairs are involved, how close we can park, and whether you’re packed. We’ll give you a free estimate by phone or email, and we’d rather tell you the real number now than surprise you on the day.

Are you affordable, and do you offer cheap moving services?

Yes. We’re an affordable Toronto moving company and we quote cheaper than most of the larger franchises, because we’re family-run and we don’t carry their overhead. What we won’t do is advertise a low hourly rate and add travel time, fuel and stair fees at the end. Ask any mover for the all-in number in writing. Ours doesn’t change unless you change the job.

If price is your deciding factor, book mid-month and pack yourself. That will save you more than switching companies will.

Do I tip movers, and how much?

Tipping is appreciated but never expected, and we don’t build it into anything. If the crew did well and you’d like to, the amount is entirely up to you. Cash at the end, handed to the crew rather than the office.

How far in advance should I book?

Two to four weeks for a normal move. Six weeks or more if you’re moving on the last weekend of the month or anywhere in the last week of June, which is the busiest stretch in the city. We do take last-minute bookings when we have the capacity, so call and ask. Our moving tips cover what to sort out in the weeks before the date.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. We’re bonded and insured, with licensing and coverage on file, and we’ll send a certificate of insurance to your property manager or condo board on request.

Do you move on weekends and holidays?

Seven days a week, 8:00 am to 11:00 pm, with no weekend or holiday surcharge.

Can you store my things between closing dates?

Yes. We have our own heated warehouse with intrusion alarms and fire detection monitored around the clock, and we offer both short and long-term storage. First month free on long-term bookings. We inventory everything going in.

Do you move pianos, safes and appliances?

Yes, with specialized equipment for heavy items. Mention it when you call so we bring the right gear and the right size crew.

Estimates are free, and we’d rather tell you the real price now than surprise you on the day.
